Blumenshine Announces Candidacy
NORMAL – A Normal native is challenging State Representative Dan Brady in the 2018 primary.
Republican David Paul Blumenshine will run for the 105th District seat. He’s a real estate agent and former campaign manager for McLean County State’s Attorney Jason Chambers.
In 2012, Blumenshine unsuccessfully ran for the congressional seat now held by Rodney Davis. If elected, he said he’ll focus on government reform, pension funding and cutting wasteful spending.
“It’s a part-time job, which ends up getting full-time wages, full-time benefits. That’s gotta stop,” said Republican David Paul Blumenshine, 105th District State Representative Candidate. “We can’t bring that debt down, as long as the people that are legislating, are what I call career politicians, are continuing to benefit, while the people of Illinois are not.”
Blumenshine is a supporter of term limits and said, if elected, he would not serve more than 8 years in the position. He said he will also decline legislative benefits and insurances.
